Privacy Policy
Verity Life Solutions Inc. (“Verity,” “we,” “us”) operates the Verity Play platform at verityplay.com (the “Service”). This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We comply with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and equivalent provincial laws.
1. Information we collect
When you create an account. Your name and email address. If you set a password, we never store it in clear text — only a hash maintained by our authentication provider.
When you subscribe. Billing details (last 4 digits of payment card, billing country, postal code, tax IDs you choose to provide) are collected and stored by our payment processor, Stripe. We receive a Stripe customer ID and a subscription status — never the full card number.
When you use the Service. The audio and video content you play, your listening progress, items you favorite, playlists you create, and aggregate usage events (play, pause, skip, share-link clicks). We use this to deliver the Service, save your place across devices, and improve content recommendations.
Automatically. Your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, approximate location derived from IP, and timestamps of requests. We use this for security (rate limiting, abuse prevention), debugging, and basic analytics.

2. How we use your information
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service
- Process payments and manage subscriptions
- Send transactional emails (sign-up confirmation, password reset, billing receipts, payment failures)
- Personalize content and remember your listening progress
- Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, and security incidents
- Comply with legal obligations (tax reporting, lawful requests from authorities)
- Communicate updates about the Service when material changes are made
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data to train advertising models, and we do not allow third-party advertising trackers on the Service.
3. Who we share it with
We share the minimum necessary data with these service providers, each under a contract that restricts their use of your information to providing the service we’ve hired them for:
- Supabase — database and authentication. Stores your account record, listening progress, and session tokens. Hosted in Canada (ca-central-1).
- Stripe — payment processing. Stores your payment method, invoices, and tax information. Stripe’s privacy policy applies to that data.
- Wistia — video hosting. Serves the video player and stores aggregate playback analytics. No personally identifying information is sent to Wistia beyond what’s required to play a video.
- Cloudflare — content delivery and bot protection (Turnstile). Receives your IP address and request headers for security checks.
- GoHighLevel (GHL) — Verity Life Solutions’s CRM. Receives your name, email, and a sign-up notification when your email is confirmed.
- Vercel — application hosting. Receives request metadata (IP, user agent, route) and stores it briefly for delivery and security.
- Email delivery — outbound transactional email is sent through our email provider on our behalf.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to respond to a lawful subpoena or court order, to protect the rights, safety, or property of Verity, our customers, or the public, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets — in which case you will be notified by email and through the Service.
4. Data location and transfers
Your account data, subscription state, and listening history are stored in Canada. Some of our service providers (Stripe, Wistia, Cloudflare, Vercel, GHL) operate globally and may process data outside of Canada in the United States and other jurisdictions. By using the Service you consent to that transfer; we use providers that publish standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.
5. Retention
We keep your account and associated data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where we’re required to keep records for legal, accounting, or tax purposes (typically 7 years for billing records). Anonymized usage statistics may be retained indefinitely.
6. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your account and the personal information associated with it
- Export a copy of your account data in a portable format
- Stop processing your information for non-essential purposes
You can change your name and email yourself from the account page. For other requests, email privacy@verityplay.com— we’ll respond within 30 days.
If you believe we’ve mishandled your data, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
7. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies for these purposes:
- Essential. Keep you signed in, remember your audio player position, prevent CSRF attacks. These cannot be disabled while you use the Service.
- Payment processing. Stripe sets cookies on checkout pages to prevent fraud.
- Security. Cloudflare Turnstile uses a cookie to remember that you’ve passed a bot check.
We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
8. Children
The Service is intended for adults age 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards: TLS 1.2+ for data in transit, encryption at rest by our cloud providers, hashed passwords, restricted internal access, and rate limiting. No system is perfectly secure; you also play a role by using a strong password and notifying us of suspected unauthorized access.
10. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll notify you by email or through the Service at least 14 days before they take effect.
